Question: Why did you choose to work/study Theoretical Astrophysics?

I wanted to study how planets and stars evolved. When you look at stars and planets with a telescope you see them how they are at that moment and if you wanted to watch it evolve you would have to look at it for thousands or millions of years. We don’t have the time to do that! So we use all our current knowledge of physics and maths and make models to see how stars and planets might evolve.

We have observed many stars and planets and they are all at different parts of their lives so we can make guesses about what those systems looked like in the past and what they might look like in the future using theoretical models!
