• Question: Is it possible for matter in space to create another solar system?

      We have found other stars that have planets around them so yes!

      Every star with planets around it is different so we wouldn’t probably ever get a set up identical to our solar system.

      We know of a few thousand planets around other stars, all different to any of our planets in mass and size and distance from their Star. There are catalogues online and wikipedia pages about some of the more interesting ones!

      As Miriam says, there are definitely other solar systems.
      Since 1992 astronomers have discovered thousands of planets:

      and there are 17 that are thought to be suitable for supporting life.
