Question: Is it actually true that you can hypnotise someone and make them do what you want?

I’ve never heard of anyone being able to do this. Of course, if they were really good at it, maybe they could just hypnotise people not to tell anyone.

I’m not a psychologist, so this isn’t my area, but I did have a look into hypnosis last week because another student asked me. A good starting point for anything you don’t know about is the Wikipedia page. It looks like hypnosis (like so much about the human mind) is not well understood – it mentions a lot of different theories about how it might work.
