This is a really difficult question, and it’s hard to pick just one because a lot of the problems facing the world are interlinked.

I think if I had to choose I’d go with ending poverty. Because once people had the resources they need to live comfortably then I think it would be easier to deal with some of the other problems like war and climate change. I can’t think of a simple way of achieving this unfortunately though — hopefully one day!

Climate change. I’m a bit biased on this: my wife is an ex-particle physicist and now analyses climate change for the UK government. It’s a problem that needs international agreement to fix, and just huge mobilisation of resources to change things.

I’m confident that we can solve it. There’s actually a some interesting basic research needed if we want to remove the carbon dioxide from the air without causing further problems.

Thats a great question and very difficult to answer! I think it would be climate change and with that I would link in the issues of cleaning our oceans. But that will only happen if we make the world a more equal place and make technology available for all.

I think if I could solve any problem it would be climate change, there are lots of things contributing to it like our reliance on oil, our lack of sustainable farming and how we look after trees and woodland. If I could solve climate change those problems would be solved too as they are the main reason for it!

Changing how we use farmland and woodland would probably help with other problems and getting rid of oil might help a lot with the tensions between countries.
