      I haven’t watched it for a while, but it does tend to depict scientists as having stereotypical “geeky” interests. I certainly have some of these (video games, board games) but I also like live music, snowboarding and lots of other things that maybe don’t fit in as well. I don’t think I’m socially awkward, but I’m not sure how to prove it! Maybe everyone just tolerates me.

      One thing that isn’t accurate but is fair enough: every week the scientists are working on something different. In practice, you might work on the same project for months or years, but this doesn’t make for great TV. I think it’s similar in law programmes – a court case might last weeks or months.

      Finally, the whiteboards in the background always have some sort of fun equation related to the show:

      They get a professor of physics to work on it. Once you’ve done some university physics you can often tell what the blackboard is referring to!
